A 31-year-old man is due to appear before Kilmainham District Court today in relation to a stabbing incident in which another man died in Ballyfermot, Dublin, over the weekend.
Alan Nolan (28), from Cedarbrook Walk, Cherry Orchard, died from a stab wound he received at an apartment there shortly after 6am on Saturday.
He was taken to St James's Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A second man, also thought to be suffering from stab wounds, was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
He remains in hospital, but is in a stable condition.
A spokesman for the Garda press office confirmed that a 31-year-old man who is in custody at Ballyfermot Garda station will appear before the District Court at 10.30am today, where he will be charged in relation to the incident.
The 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
"He remains in Garda custody pending his appearance," the spokesman said.
A postmortem examination on the deceased established that the cause of death was as a result of a stab wound.
