A man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Monday night was released yesterday. Gardai said a file on the case would be prepared for the DPP.

Gardai last night named the victim as Mr Roberto Minotti (31), an Italian national who lived in Dunard, Co Wicklow and had a second address at Kevin Street in Dublin. His parents had flown over from Italy to identify the body.

The stabbing took place at a house in Haroldville Avenue, close to the South Circular Road in Rialto.

Mr Minotti had gone to the house to visit a woman and her two-week-old child. He became involved in an argument with another man who was at the house, and was stabbed with a knife.
