A 27-year-old man is being questioned this morning over the seizure of 110,000 ecstasy tablets at Rosslare Harbour at the weekend.

Gardaí claim the drugs could have a possible street value of €1,100,000.

The tablets were found hidden in a car that had travelled to Ireland from Lithuania via France. The drugs were found hidden in the front bumper of the Lithuanian-registered Saab car. The bumper had been modified to increase the size of its internal cavity.

The haul was wrapped in coffee to mask the smell of the drugs if the car was searched by sniffer dogs.
