A man in his 20s has been arrested today in connection with the death of Niall Dorr (18) in Dundalk last month.
Niall Dorr died in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in a row involving several youths in the town last month.
Mr Dorr, who had ambitions to join the Irish Army, was assaulted as he walked with two friends along Castle Road, Dundalk at about 9pm on Wednesday October 13th. It is believed the group of friends became involved in an altercation with another group of up to six men and one woman.
The man arrested in the Dundalk area this morning is the fifth person to be detained in relation to the investigation.

He is currently being held at Dundalk Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
