Gardaí investigating the murder of a woman in Dublin have arrested a man

Gardaí investigating the murder of a woman in Dublin have arrested a man. The suspect, aged in his 30s, was detained yesterday evening.

The 25-year-old victim was stabbed at a property in Allendale Glen, Ongar, in the north-west of the city on Friday night.

She was subsequently left at the emergency department of the James Connolly hospital allegedly by someone driving a white Ford Focus.

A male relative of the woman, believed to be her brother, was injured in the same stabbing incident, which happened at around 8.40pm.

Gardaí received a report at 8.53pm and when they arrived at the scene they found the injured man, who is aged in his 30s.

He was taken to the Connolly hospital where his injuries were today described as not life threatening.

While gardaí were attending the scene in Ongar, at 9.01pm the female stabbing victim was left at the emergency department allegedly by the Focus driver.

She was pronounced dead at 10.30pm. Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
