Man held over Finglas shooting

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection the attempted murder of a man in Finglas in December.

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection the attempted murder of a man in Finglas in December.

The 26-year-old was arrested in Bray this afternoon and is presently detained at Finglas Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act. This brings the total arrested in this investigation to 10.

The previous nine were all released without charge and a file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Glen McGrath (40) was shot while standing outside An Cappagh Nua pub on Barry Road in Finglas on December 30th.

Mr McGrath was standing outside the pub when a dark coloured Volkswagen estate car with a 98 D registration drove towards him. The front seat passenger got out and fired at least four shots into his upper body.

The gunman got back into the car which was driven off in the direction of Barry Avenue.
