Istanbul - Turkish police arrested a man suspected of attempting a bomb attack on a French diplomatic building, the state-run Anatolian news agency said yesterday.
The arrest came as tension continues to mount between the two states after France officially accepted accusations that Ottoman Turks committed genocide against Armenians in 1915.
Police had detained the man hurrying toward the French consulate in Istanbul late on Sunday, Turkey's biggest city.
He was carrying three hand grenades and an unlicenced handgun, Anatolia said.
