A man has been arrested by British police in central England over claims he had made death threats against the touring Australian cricket team.
"A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with an allegation of making threats to kill," a Scotland Yard spokeswoman said, adding officers had held the man in Stoke-on-Trent on Friday.
The man was released on bail until October 27th, and police said investigations continued.
The fifth and final test match at London's Oval began on Thursday with England needing to avoid defeat to give them a series win over their old rivals for the first time since 1989.
Security has been tight at the Oval after four suicide bombers attacked London's transport system on July 7th, killing 52 commuters, and other bombers made a botched attack two week later.
