A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in a pub in Newcastle, Co Dublin. last night.
The victim was shot twice, once in the leg and once in the lower back, by a gunman who walked into the bar on the Lucan Road wearing a balaclava at around 9.30pm last night.
He is being treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening, at Tallaght General Hospital.
A man was arrested a short time later on the Lock Road in Lucan and is being held at Lucan Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act, 1939.
Gardaí also seized a car that they believe was stolen in South Dublin last week. The vehicle will be technically examined later this morning.
The scene of the shooting is also sealed off for examination.
