Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation after a man suffered serious injuries when he was rammed by a car in the city last night.
The man was standing outside a pub in the Farranree area when a car drove up and rammed him, pinning him against a wall.
The car drove off and was later found abandoned on Knockpogue Avenue and gardaí have preserved it for a technical examination.
The man - who is in his 20s and from the area - was brought by ambulance to Cork University hospital where he underwent surgery.
It’s understood that the man’s injuries are not life- threatening even though he did sustain serious injuries to his legs.
Gardai believe the incident may be linked to a recent dispute between two families on the northside of the city.
Gardai have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Gurranebraher Garda station on 021-4946200.
