Man in court after stabbing

A man was charged in Belfast yesterday with the attempted murder of another man who is in hospital with stab wounds.

A man was charged in Belfast yesterday with the attempted murder of another man who is in hospital with stab wounds.

Mr John Williamson (22), from Forthriver Road, Belfast, was charged with attempting to murder Mr David McBrinn in a house at Benview Drive at the weekend. He was also charged with entering the house to cause injury while armed with two knives.

The Magistrates' Court heard that when Mr Williamson was charged he replied: "I hope he is OK. I didn't want to do him any harm."

He was remanded in custody until August 23rd.
