A 47-year old man was remanded in custody by magistrates in a London court today after he was charged with the murder of a British teenager whose dismembered body was found on a run-down council estate in south London.
British police believe Rochelle Holness, 15, was abducted and killed on or before Wednesday, Sept 28 by John Joseph McGrady.
A woman who was arrested with McGrady, who was remanded until October 7, has been released.
The hunt for Holness, who had been reported missing, focussed on a flat on the Milford Towers estate in Catford after an ambulance crew raised the alarm after they had been called to one of the flats to treat a man suffering from cuts.
McGrady and the woman were arrested by police officers who later discovered Holness's dismembered body on an open area.
Holness had last been seen on Sunday evening when she had gone to use a phone box near Milford Towers. She was later reported missing.
