The High Court in Belfast was told yesterday that police found two pistols, an assault rifle, magazines and 120 assorted rounds of ammunition when they raided a flat at Malvern Way in the Shankill area of Belfast.

Mr John William Beck (17), from the Shankill area, applied for bail on a charge of possessing the firearms with intent to endanger life. A Crown lawyer said Mr Beck admitted he was the occupant of the flat.

She said Mr Beck told police he was approached by two men he knew to be members of the UFF. He said he was told not to return to the flat until the key he handed over was returned. Mr Beck was released on bail.
