A man in his forties is in a critical condition in hospital after he suffered stab wounds during a row in a house in Cork city.
Ambulance crews found the man bleeding badly, slumped in an armchair, suffering from a wound to his side.
The attack happened at a two-storey house on Douglas Street on the southside of the city. He underwent emergency surgery at Cork University hospital last night.
Gardaí have arrested another man.
