Police in Armagh are appealing for information following the incident iwhich took place in the Mullacreevie Park area of the city at around 11pm.
The victim, who had been shot a number of times, was taken to hospital for treatment for gunshots wounds to his knees and upper back.
His condition is described as stable.
Motive for the shooting has yet to be established and the PSNI are appealing to the public for information about the incident.
