A man (24) in Belfast last night became the second victim of a so-called paramilitary style shooting in Northern Ireland in 24 hours.

The victim was treated by doctors after sustaining a gunshot wound to the calf in the loyalist Donegall Pass area of south Belfast shortly before 8.40pm.

It is believed he was confronted by four men who attacked him.

A teenager from Strabane in Co Tyrone is recovering after being shot in the foot early yesterday morning. The 19-year-old was attacked by a masked gang in Fountain Terrace shortly after 1am.
