Man injured in Dublin shooting

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital following a shooting in Blanchardstown, Dublin, early this morning.

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital following a shooting in Blanchardstown, Dublin, early this morning.

The man was shot in the leg at the front door of a house on Fortlawn Park shortly after 5am.

He was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital where his injuries are described as minor.

Gardaí arrested another man in his 20s a short time later in connection with the incident.

He was taken to Clondalkin Garda station where his being held under section 20 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The scene of the shooting has been preserved pending a Garda forensic investigation.
