A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in Co Waterford this afternoon.

A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in Co Waterford this afternoon.

The man, who is understood to be in his 50s, was discovered at around 1.15pm on the roadside at Coolbeggan, Tallow with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital and is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

A garda spokesman said they were looking for a blue jeep-type vehicle, but there are no further details on the exact make or model.
