A Bray man who was jailed by a District Court judge for a week after he appeared in court dressed in a Sex Pistols T-shirt, tempted fate again yesterday when he arrived at Bray District Court wearing a camouflage T-shirt with the words "drunk punk" emblazoned across it.
Last Friday, Judge Murrough Connellan jailed Sex Pistols fan Philip Dunleavy, Oldcourt Drive, Bray, after he wore a yellow "Never Mind the Bollocks - Here's the Sex Pistols" T-shirt to court, where he was facing a charge of theft from a DIY store in the town.
Dunleavy could not give an adequate explanation to Judge Connellan as to why he chose to wear the T-shirt into court. He was sent to prison for seven days to "contemplate his attire".
Shocked, Dunleavy muttered some abuse towards Judge Connellan before he was led away to Mountjoy Prison.
He came before the court yesterday sporting a green camouflage T-shirt and trousers, with the words "drunk punk" stitched across his chest.
Judge Patrick Clyne, presiding, made no mention of his clothing or of last week's incident, remanding him on continuing bail to appear before the court to face his charge on September 15th.
