A young man was killed today in an incident at the Irish Cement factory in Drogheda, Co Louth.
The man, who has not yet been named, was in his late teens. According to a garda spokesman the man became entangled in a machine in the plant between 2 and 3 p.m. today.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he died later. A postmortem will be carried out tomorrow.
The Health and Safety Authority are expected to conduct an investigation into the incident.
