One man died and several people were hospitalised yesterday following a traffic accident on the M2 motorway outside Belfast. Five cars and a lorry were involved in the pile up near the Fortwilliam interchange on the northside of the city. An RUC spokesman said there was "no obvious cause" for the accident and an investigation will follow.
The driver of one car, a man in his 50s, was cut from the wreckage by fire crews, but pronounced dead. Many were treated for minor injuries.
