A man has died in a road traffic crash in Co Tipperary in the early hours of the morning.

The man, who was in his early 20s, was killed in the single vehicle crash at Lower Ballylynch, Carrick-on-Suir, at about 2.50am. He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to South Tipperary General Hospital.

Gardai in Carrick-on-Suir are investigating the incident, and are seeking witnesses to the accident.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination.
