A man has been charged with dangerous driving causing the death of a 19-year-old Limerick student who died in a fatal three-car crash.
Roman Andreas (21), from Latvia, with an address at Dromore, Rhebogue, Limerick, was appearing yesterday at Limerick District Court.
He was charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Emma Woodland on September 9th at Ballysimon Road, Limerick. He had earlier been charged with failing to stop, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and failing to report and give appropriate information to gardaí.
At an earlier court sitting, a bail application was refused after Garda evidence was heard that the accused was considered "a flight risk" as he had no ties in Limerick.
Ms Woodland, from Hilltop, St Patrick's Road, Limerick, died after the car in which she was a back-seat passenger was involved in the fatal collision with two other vehicles.
She had recently completed her Leaving Certificate and was due to start a legal secretarial course last week at Limerick Senior College.
The accused was remanded in custody.
