A Kildare man who admitted having £185,000 worth of heroin for supply has been remanded for sentence on July 7th by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Paul King (25), of Mountain View, Athgarvan, Newbridge, pleaded guilty to having the heroin at Drumfin Road, Ballyfermot, on April 16th, 1996.
Det Garda Pauline Reid told Judge Cyril Kelly she had no objection to King being remanded on continuing bail.
She agreed with Mr Fergal Foley, prosecuting, that the front seat passenger in the car left the jurisdiction on the day of the offence and warrants had been issued for him.
Mr Michael O'Higgins, for King, said the defence would be raising the matter of the passenger at the sentence hearing.
Judge Kelly was told the 246g of heroin was half pure, with a street value of £185,000. The State entered a nolle prosequi in the case against King's wife, Carol, who had also been charged originally on this matter.
