A man who is charged with imprisoning a woman and seriously assaulting her has been remanded on continuing bail to await trial.
DeOlive Muteba (40), Ard Alainn, Ballybane, appeared before Galway District Court yesterday. He is charged with falsely imprisoning a woman at a house in Ros Aitinn, Upper Clybaun Road, Galway, on March 14th last and with assaulting the woman, causing her harm.
Garda Insp Seán Glynn said the DPP had directed that Mr Muteba be sent forward for trial to the Circuit Criminal Court and a book of evidence was to be prepared.
Judge Mary Fahy remanded Mr Muteba on continuing bail to appear before the court again on December 19th.
