The 35-year-old man arrested yesterday in connection with the investigation into the murder of Rachel O'Reilly has been released tonight.
Detectives based in Balbriggan are continuing their investigation into the brutal murder of Mrs O'Reilly at her North Dublin home last year.
The man (35) was detained in Crumlin south Dublin early yesterday and held under Section 9 of the Offences Against the State Act on suspicion of withholding information.
Last week, gardaí exhumed the body of Ms O'Reilly, suspecting a note left in her coffin could offer a new lead.
The mother-of-two sustained several blows to the head and was found by her mother at her home at Baldarragh, near Naul village, on October 4th, 2004.
There were no signs of a struggle between Ms O'Reilly and her attacker. The house had been disturbed, indicating a possible break-in, but the dead woman's family have said they believe this may have been staged and that Ms O'Reilly was probably killed by somebody known to her.
Money in Ms O'Reilly's purse was untouched.
The investigation in ongoing.
