A man arrested in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Derry yesterday morning has been released.
The man (22) was arrested after a pedestrian died when he was knocked down by a car in the city.
The victim, named later as Martin Gallagher (24) from Sandale Park in Derry was walking on the Racescourse Road in the Shantallow area at about 2.20am when he was hit by a black Volkswagen Passat.
Mr Gallagher was a member of Foyle Valley running club and had taken part in a number of marathons.
