A 22-year-old Lithuanian man charged in connection with the death of a fellow national was today remanded in custody for two weeks.

Donatos Sugkus, 22, is to remain there while his legal representatives prepare the bail application.

He is charged with assault causing serious harm after a 27-year-old Lithuanian man was found inside a house in Joseph's Villas in inner city north Dublin on November 19.

The man had been stabbed five times and died as he was being taken to hospital.   Mr Sugkus appeared in court dressed in a checked shirt and jeans.

Judge Gibbons ordered him to appear again at 10.30am on December 13.
