The body of an elderly man has been recovered from a river in Newport, Co Mayo.
Gardai say the alarm was raised around 8 p.m. last night and the 75-year-old’s body was taken from the water some hours later.
Gardai are treating the death as accidental.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
