London - A heart patient has sold his home to pay for life-saving treatment in South Africa after learning he could die before surgery is provided by the NHS.
Mr Les Edlin (53) who suffered a serious heart attack in January, said he urgently needed a bypass operation but had not even had the tests needed to discover the exact condition of his heart.
Only when the tests were completed could he be placed on a waiting list for an operation.
