A man was shot and seriously injured in a gun attack in the Ballysillan Avenue in north Belfast last night.
The victim is in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital with what was believed to be a leg wound, an RUC spokesman said.
It is understood he was walking with a group of men when a bullet struck him.
In a separate incident a short time later a man in his 20s was shot and wounded in Forthriver Drive in north Belfast.

He was taken to hospital after being found in an entry at Cairndale Flats with a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition is not believed to be serious.
