Gardaí at Pearse Street are investigating a serious assault at the junction of Hawkins Street and Poolbeg Street in Dublin 2. According to gardaí, a man was attacked and robbed by two other men at 2am. The assailants then ran off towards O'Connell Street bridge.
The victim is seriously injured in St James's Hospital.
Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who was in the Hawkins Street/Poolbeg Street/Burgh Quay area at about 2am today, particularly taxi drivers who may have picked up two men in the O'Connell Street bridge area.
