A man has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries following an attack in Co Monaghan.
The victim is understood to have been confronted by two men wielding golf clubs when he returned home to his house in the Three Mile House area at 10.30 this morning.
He is currently being treated in Cavan General Hospital for his injuries.
A Garda spokesman said they were seeking information from anyone who may have seen a black Audi car in the area this morning.
