A Dublin man was given a five-year suspended prison sentence by the Special Criminal Court yesterday for having a sawn-off shotgun which was used in a fight between the INLA and a drugs gang in Dublin last year. Mark McGann (23), of Richmond Road, Fairview, pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of the shotgun, nine cartridges and 95 rounds of ammunition on November 19th last year.

The court heard McGann was asked by friends to keep the gun, which was used in an incident at the Ballymount Industrial Estate in Walkins town on October 6th last year, when an INLA man, Patrick Campbell (22), was killed.
