The general manager of an insurance firm has brought High Court proceedings aimed at preventing her employers from terminating her employment.
Deirdre McLoughlin, Sevitt Hill, Bettystown, Co Meath, was suspended from her €100,000 per annum position at Setanta Insurance Services Ltd last September and later told she was being investigated for alleged gross misconduct, the court heard. She rejects the allegations.
Her lawyers argued the firm is trying to get rid of her under the guise of “a sham disciplinary investigation” so as to avoid paying her contractual entitlements.
