An web-based resource providing a map of services for drug users in west Dublin has been unveiled by the Tallaght Drugs Task Force.
The map directs people to a range of Tallaght-based services for drug-users such as needle exchange and rehabilitation projects, as well as family support units.
The map is available on the Tallaght Drugs Task Force's website at http://www.tallaghtdtf.ie.
Grace Hill from the taskforce said: "There is a huge range of supports and services available in the Tallaght area that could act as an important intervention to someone with a drugs problem.
"However, the problem we have noticed is that most drug users and their families don't know about the services that exist," she said.
Later today, Minister of State with Special Responsibility for Drugs Strategy & Community Affairs Pat Carey will attend the publication of a study of a rehabilitation project for former drug users.
The eight-week Keltoi programme - being run by the Health Service Executive in the eastern region - uses an model in which clients "can develop and practice the living skills to maintain a drug free lifestyle.
