Zurich - Switzerland's highest court has turned down the last possible appeal against returning frozen Swiss bank accounts of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos to the Philippines, justice officials said yesterday. The ruling means there are no more legal obstacles in Switzerland to transferring over $500 million (£362.3) in Marcos money to accounts at the Philippine central bank, a spokesman for the Swiss Federal Police Agency said.

The Swiss news agency SDA reported the Marcos family had filed a new petition asking the Federal Court in Lausanne to open the entire case again from the beginning.
