The ISEQ bounced back today to finish the day up 77 points, with CRH making up some ground, closing at 19.72, up 22 cents.
Bank of Ireland was also higher, up 3 cents at 11.60 while AIB was lower, down 1 cent at 13.13. Trading was modest ahead of tonight’s widely anticipated Fed decision to interest rates.
In London the FTSE 100 clawed back above the 5,600 mark today, recovering from the previous session's 12-week closing low, as banking stocks rebounded and investors remained cautious ahead of the Federal meeting.
The FTSE 100 index closed 52.2 up at 5,607.9. The wider indices were mixed with the Techmark 100, which hit an all-time low on Tuesday, adding 19.1 to 1,754.7 while the FTSE SmallCap dropped 12.2 to 2,941.
