A new advisory group charged with identifying how outdated regulation is stifling competitiveness has been established by the Minister for Enterprise, Micheál Martin today.

The Business Regulation Forum (BRF), will be chaired by Dr Donal De Buitléir of AIB. Other forum members include Pat Delaney of the Small Business Association, Mark Fielding of ISME, and Dermot Jewell of the Consumers' Association.

Mr Martin said the BRF would identify how excessive or outdated regulation would adversely affect the competitiveness for Irish companies.

It is intended that the BRF would advise Mr Martin who would then advise the Government on regulatory issues.
