London - The jury in the football match-fixing trial at Winchester was given the weekend off yesterday when, after more than three hours, it had failed to reach verdicts on the first day of its deliberations and the court was adjourned until Monday.

The jury retired shortly before lunch yesterday on the 41st day of the retrial of the soccer stars Bruce Grobbelaar, John Fashanu and Hans Segers.

Along with a Malaysian businessman Heng Suan Lim, they face charges alleging a plot to rig the results of English Premier League games.
