Mayo claimed their third All-Ireland title with a one point victory, of 0-12 to 1-8, over a gallant Monaghan side at Croke Park this afternoon.

Triona McNicholas' point two minutes from time pipped the title for the Connacht side. But it was Cora Staunton's personal haul of eight points that really stole the show for Mayo.

An Edel Byrne goal ensured Monaghan led at halftime by a solitary point but Staunton and co looked hungrier and claimed the lead in the second half to be crowned All Ireland champions in front of an impressive crowd at Croke Park.
