Racing: Tony McCoy will be fit to ride at the Cheltenham Festival, according to reports this morning. The 12-time champion jockey announced his well-being in a text message to former weighing-room colleague Luke Harvey.
McCoy faced the doctor on Monday morning for a check-up and was given the all-clear to begin the initial stages of his comeback.
The jockey had been absent since January 12th after he suffered a back injury falling from Arnold Layne in the Classic Chase at Warwick.
McCoy's therapy has been aided by kriotherapy treatment, which involves stepping into a compressed compartment, in which temperatures drop to around minus-130 degrees and helps improve blood circulation.
