Wayne McCullough today said that he was relishing the support of a sell-out crowd driving him to victory in Belfast on Saturday night.
McCullough, whose sights are fixed on a showdown with WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison next year, is ready to put on a show for his fans at the Maysfield Leisure Centre when he faces Russian Nikolai Eremeev.
The 32-year-old McCullough, who only received a licence from the British Boxing Board of Control in the summer after a two-year battle, said: "I can't wait to hear the support.
"It's great to be fighting in front of a sell-out crowd. It's seven years since my last Belfast fight so this is going to be special."
It was two years ago when McCullough was stopped from boxing in Belfast after failing a routine brain scan - something which he disputed with the board, finally winning his right to fight after stringent medical tests in America.
He continued: "Eremeev is a decent fighter, he has been the distance with some very good fighters, including a current world champion so it's not going to be easy.
"But obviously I feel I am a different class and I want to give the fans a great night."
