McDonald's will convert its British delivery fleet to run on biodiesel made from its own recycled cooking oil, the company said today.
The fast food chain aims to switch all its 155 vehicles to run on biodiesel in the next 12 months, it said.
The process will start today with half its 45-strong fleet based in Basingstoke.
The biodiesel will be made up of 85 per cent used cooking oil collected from around 900 McDonald's restaurants and 15 per cent from pure rapeseed oil.
