Vandals have targeted Tánaiste Michael McDowell's constituency office in an overnight attack, it was confirmed today.

Vandals have targeted Tánaiste Michael McDowell's constituency office in an overnight attack, it was confirmed today.

A front window in the premises just metres from the Justice Minister's home in south Dublin was believed to have been smashed in the early hours of the morning.

The office is located on the busy main thoroughfare through Ranelagh which is usually thronged with traffic and pedestrians late into the night.

A spokeswoman for the Progressive Democrats leader confirmed a window had been smashed and that it was reported to the gardaí.
