A report from the Morris tribunal into the hit-and-run death of a Donegal cattle dealer was today handed to Minister for Justice Michael McDowell.
The report which covers the second module of the inquiry concerns how gardai investigated the unsolved death of Richie Barron in the 1990s.
It will also deal with extortion phone calls to Michael and Charlotte Peoples.
The Department of Justice confirmed Mr McDowell would spend the next fortnight studying the report before bringing it before the Oireachtas.
It is understood the report will be brought to Government next Tuesday.
And the High Court could be called on to rule if any details in the report could prejudice criminal proceedings.
It is the second report from the inquiry into allegations of corruption among gardai in Donegal.
The first report, published last summer, revealed negligence and corruption involving a number of officers in the Donegal division in the 1990s.
