The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform Michael McDowell TD has called for a Yes vote in Friday's citizenship referendum.

Welcoming weekend newspaper polls on the citizenship referendum, Mr McDowell urged those in favour of the proposal to come out and exercise their right to vote.

The polls, in yesterday's Sunday Business Post and today's Irish Times, show a further increase in the percentage of voters who will vote 'Yes' in this Friday's referendum.

Mr McDowell urged those who support the Government's proposal to ensure "that they come out and vote 'Yes' on Friday."
