Writers John McGahern, Paul Muldoon and Pat McCabe will be among the authors to read at this year's 43rd Yeats International Summer School. The two-week programme of poetry, drama, seminars and tours will begin in Sligo on July 28th.
The chairwoman of the Yeats Society, Ms Maura McTighe, said that given the reluctance of Americans to travel after the September 11th attacks, they were hoping to attract more Irish people this year.
Those giving lectures this year include Cork-poet Bernard O'Donoghue, Geraldine Higgins and George Watson.
