Team news:Despite suffering a broken cheekbone in a recent club game Ronan McGarrity has been named in the Mayo side to face Galway in the Connacht football final on Sunday. His participation is subject to a fitness test but, for now, the midfielder starts alongside David Heaney.
Liam O’Malley will also undergo a late medical check on an injured ankle but will replace Donal Vaughan at corner back if he gets the all clear, in the only change to the side that hammered Roscommon last time out.
Laois coach Niall Rigney has resisted change ahead of the All-Ireland hurling qualifier against Limerick in Thurles on Saturday.
Despite having James Young back from a one-month suspension, Rigney has kept faith with the side that beat Antrim.
A victory over Limerick at the weekend would ensure a quarter-final meeting with Leinster finalists Dublin.
