Armagh's All-Ireland winning captain Kieran McGeeney and Kilkenny hurler Philly Larkin were today named September's Vodafone players of the month.
Both played crucial roles for their counties throughout the championships and were pivotal figures in last month's hurling and football finals.
McGeeney will cap off a superb season if Ireland retain the International Rules trophy by beating Australia in the two Test series which gets underway at Croke Park on Sunday. The Armagh man was yesterday selected in John O'Keefe's 26-man Ireland squad.
The two players were presented with their trophies at Croke Park this afternoon.
